Ingredients:


450g flour
250 butter
Pinch of salt
4tbsp cold water


Methods:




1.  Using fingertips, crumble all ingredients except water until become like breadcrumbs.
2.  Then only add water and mix well.


3.  Wrap with plastic and rest  the dough in fridge for 30 minutes.


4.  Divide the dough into two. One for bottom crust and another one for top crust.
Place the roll dough on bakingdish plate and trim well the edges. 


 5.  Prick the crust with a fork.


 6.  Cover with baking paper and fill with a layer of baking beans [I used Soy beans] and you will get perfect pastry case. Bake the crust 180C for 15-20 minutes.



Making the Apple filling:



- Green apples [Granny Smith]. Peeled and slice thinly. Soak in water with 1tbsp lemon juice to avoid it become brown.
- 1tsp cinnamon powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup brown sugar


1) Arrange the sliced apples on the crust.


2) Sprinkle with  sugar, cinnamon, salt and dot with butter


3) Place second crust on top of pie filling. Brush top with beaten egg yolk.


4) Bake 200C for first 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 180C and continue bake for another 40-45 minutes or until pie is set. Done!
