Silalah drooling tatkala membaca atau melihat-lihat saja this entry.....slurpppppp!

This chapter kita story-mory about food sajer okay. Buat reference cik jah kalo-kalo suatu hari nanti ter-sampai ke Koh Samui nie. Lagipun hari tu kan chek dah promise kalo chek pegi sana nak surveykan pasal makanan halal kat sana. So, janji ditunaikan...heheheee

Pada mulanya memang payah nak cari halal/muslim food at Koh Samui. Thai Tourism pun tak dak info about this. On internet pun tak banyak and hard to find or get precise information about the restaurant location, type of food and etc. So, apa yang chek nak share ngan cik jah nie sekadar yang chek makan kat sana jer lah. Harap dapat dijadikan panduan untuk cik jah.Yeahh!

Mentalnote: Chek hired a motorbike. So super easy nak ke sana sini dan mencari muslim restaurants.

There is one muslim restaurant in front of Bangkok Hospital Samui. Just take highway 4169  [the only main road around Koh Samui]  Memang tepi jalan, senang nak jumpa.
Ada nasi Briani dan lauk campur. Cuma tak banyak pilihan.

This is my lunch on Day2. About RM8. Ada namprik sedap! uishhhh!!! memang sedap. Cuma yang tak best, hari tu jer buka, pergi hari-hari lain tutup lar pulok! Balik rumah mak mentua kot....ahaks!

Paling chek respect kat kedai makan kat Koh Samui nie, almost every table disediakan air suam dalam jag. Free! kalo kat Malaysia nak order air suam pun kena bayar 5 kupang!!! gelas kecik plak tu. Kat sini unlimited refill taw. Free!

Another muslim/halal restaurant at Chaweng. Fareast's Restaurant. Nak citer kat mana pun susah jugak, sebab cik jah mesti tak leh nak imagine. Sebab jalan kat Koh Samui ni taklah modern  sangat. Jalan utama  [selain highway 4169] pun kecik muat-muat sebijik bas jar. Tar pun macam tak tar. Lubang sini sana. Naik motor sakit montot taww. Ouchh! Pastu banyak lorong-lorong shortcut. Restaurant nie kira dekat jugaklah dengan my resort; Kandaburi.  On the way gitu. Dekat Living Plaza. Opposite 7/11. Kalo tak salah dalam area Leam Din.

I had most of my daily meal here. Sedap kakak tu masak. Walopun gerai beliau kecik, dapur pun comel jer ala-ala gerai burger, tapi bila order request itu dan ini sumer beliau ada. Hebat!

Chek order burger, kakak tu buatkan daging burger sendiri. Daging dicincang dan digaul dengan tepung dan rempah ratus. Dikepal-kepal dan digoreng. My burger siap! Sedapp jugak!

Cuma, secara general makanan kat Koh Samui nie mahal. Lebih kurang harga makanan di Kuala Lumpur.

Orange juice kat sini lain sket. Depa tak guna sunskist. Depa guna buah limau yang kulit nipis tu. Freshly squeezed and rasanya lazat.

My Dinner on Day 2. About RM54.
Steamed seabass with cilipadi and lime, beef green curry and telur dadar.

Dalam menu tak dak telur dadar, pulun dok describe kat kakak tu, akhirnya terpacul dari mulut beliau "telur dadar?" hahahaaaa...
kakak tu bleh cakap melayu lar sket-sket. Ala-ala Patani gitew. Tapi kalo untuk category Thai, kakak ni boleh tahan speaking omputih. Terer lar jugak. Senang pelanggan nak order. Apalagi, chek pun tambah lar, "kakak letak bawang & cili dalam telur dadar okay" heheheeee
and she understood...lol

Lunch Day 3. About RM 34
Glass noodle salad yang sangat sedap! RM8/plate, telur dadar lagi...heheheee

and delicious clear tomyum. Pun tak der dalam menu, but chek request. Spicy with very fresh and big prawns. RM8/bowl.

Memang sedap dan berselera makan authentic typical Thai dishes macam nie. Penat berjalan dan merempit naik motor seharian, cuaca pulak panas....arrghhhhh....nyumm...nyummmm
Nak order menu fancy-fancy pun tak baper nak lalu. Bila dah penat, always craving for basic food yet membuka selera. Sebab tu wajib order telur dadar. lol

Sumer ada kat restaurant kakak nie. Sepanjang chek makan kat sini, ada banyak jugak muslim from middle east countries,  european/western muslim  [mat salleh]  yang datang makan sini.  Rombongan kakyam dari Malaysia seramai 15 orang pun datang makan sini.  Wahhh!!! meriah dan untung kakak nie. Sebab dah tiap-tiap hari datang sini, bila chek sampai jar, kakak tu dan senyum lebar. Friendly walopun bila bercakap macam ayam dengan itik, Janji senyummmmm....heheheee

Yang hebatnya, kakak tu sorang jar tukang masak with 1 cambodian helper who hardly understand English but always smile and can speak Thai fluently.

Dinner on my Day 3 was very very late. I reach this restaurant nearly 11.30pm. Memang ngam-ngam time kakak nie tutup kedai. Tapi sebab regular, kakak tu tolong masakkan jugak...heheheeee
Habis makan dah pukul 12.30midnight. Order clear tomyum jer.
Pastu tolong kakak tu tutup kedai...heheheeee kidding...

Owhh!! this was the best!
Also takdak dalam menu, tapi chek request. hahahaaa...hebatkan chek? awwww
Tanya kakak tue ada snapper tak? kakak tu cakap "ada"
cantikkk!
Snapper grilled satu! owwwhhlalalalaaa....sedap! fresh! sweet! and juicy!

Namprik with ulam pun takder dalam menu kakak nie. Again chek request.
Kakak tu boleh sediakan plak tu. Hats off to the kakak lar. Kiranya dia masak ikut selera chek...heheheee
Pulun kakak tu tumbuk namprik guna lesung batu..ketangg ketunggg!
Lazat giles namprik kakak nie! Wheewww!

again with glass noodle salad.

again with beef green curry.
Total lunch on my last day is RM56.
This was my last meal at Fareast's Restaurant. Siap babai-babai say goodbye dengan kakak tu. Cuma tak feluk-feluk jar sebab kakak tu tak bagi diskon...ahaks!
So, kalo cikjah datang sini, boleh lar makan kat sini. Sedap!

Kat sini, chek tak brani lar nak simply makan snack or street food. First sebab status halal amat diragui dan second sebab hygiene level...heheheee

So, stock up fruits sajar. Harganya lebih kurang Malaysia juga. Precisely Kuala Lumpur price...lol
Rambutan approx RM5/kg. Kat kampung chek RM3/kg jar...heheheee

Ada rambutan, manggis, mangga, jambu, tembikai and etc.

dan alangkah terkedu apabila chek melihat buah ini....
nakkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sedapnya buah setoi. Almost 10 years chek tak jumpa dan makan buah setoi. Last skali makan masa budak-budak dula kat kampung. Sekarang nie dah susah nak jumpa.

Saiz buah setoi ni amatlah besar! 3 biji jer dah berat 1kg. RM5/kg

Buat jajan makan kat bilik.

Uiishhhh!!! manis dan gebu isi buah setoi.

This is famous snack in Koh Samui. Banana pancake. This is halal. Look for stall with halal logo okay.
Found this stall at Chaweng beach road while doing my shopping and clubing outing at night.

Ada banyak pilihan. Jenuh lar nak memilih.....

I chose banana pancake with freshly grated young coconut with maple syrup. Lazat!
Macam roti canai. Cuma ada filling banana & coconut. Memang best!
This is what I'm trying to say, do what local do and eat what local eat. Then you will enjoy a fun holiday.

RM4/pc. Mahai jugak. kalori tak hengatt punya nie...tapi apa salahnya kann? heheheee
4 hari kat Koh Samui, hari-hari makan nasi, sedangkan dah lama chek tak makan nasi as daily meal, nearly 8 months taw! Makan nasi seminggu skali atau dua kali jar....tapi bila sampai sini....ouch! tak tahan!!! lauk depa best! best! lol

Chaweng town is full of restaurants selling grilled seafood like this. Very happening and merry.

Street food. Never tried as they are selling grilled pork...ouch! Teruja jugak bila tengok makcik-makcik nie dok tumbuk cilipadi dan kacang tanah, freshly squeezed lime juice buat somtam & mangga salad. Very the appetizing! Siap dok kipas-kipas asap bakar seafood lagi kat tepi jalan tu.
Thai people suka makan. Depa buka kedai very late. 11am and some 1pm. Kalo pergi kedai seawal 11.30am depa baru kalut dok bersarapan. Pergi pukul 2-3pm, sibuk lunch plak. Pukul 11pm pun masih ada yang dok makan. Pendek kata makan 24jam! hahahaaaa

Instant food macam nie pun ada at 7/11, but not sure halal or not.
7/11, Family Mart, farmasi bersepah-sepah kat Koh Samui nie. Every 1km mesti ada. So tak risau sangat lar untuk dapatkan mineral water or fresh juice.

Jangan terkejut, kat sini terdapat banyak hospital with beautiful landscape. Resort hospital. On one island ada lebih kurang 5 hospital.  Wow!  hebatkan banyak foreigners datang buat surgery kat sini kot. Especially cosmetic surgery...heheheeee

Another muslim/halal restaurant at Chaweng town. Selling Labenese and Thai food.
So, amacam? I thought it will be pretty hard for me to get halal food there, but it was not a problem at all. In fact, I've enjoyed a lot on super delicious authentic Thai food. I went there with 2 tuna cans, and came back with 2 tuna cans...heheheeee
