My lovely pink hydrangea! Owhh Yeaahhhhh!!!! Bunga~bunga tak hati cik jah pabila melihat my amazing flower nie? Ya Allah!, kalo tak bunga~gunga, tak tahular nak cakap apalagi kat cik jah nie O.O

Bayangkan yg melihat dah bunga~bunga bagai, ini kan pula yang menanam dan menjaga.....owh!!!~~~ speechless!

Gumbira hati melonjak ria tidak terkata :) Kepuasan berganda tak dapat digambarkan dengan kata~kata...heheeee [ayat over okay...]

Kalo cik jah nak tahu, hydrangea ni such a fascinating flower. Boleh bertukar~tukar warna mengikut kualiti tanah dan kandungan PH. Kalo macam my case nie the soil contains less aluminium sebab tu the flowers turn to be pink. Kalo nak bunga bertukar menjadi biru, kaedah paling senang ialah cik jah tanam paku [aluminium] dalam tanah tu...insyaallah :)

But I like mine to have pink flowers. I ♥ pink! ;)

Devil Chocolate Cake with delicious Chocolate Ganache Icing

Again here it comes the word 'devil' :) Well, it means nothing except you need to skip your carb meals for the day and try to 'enjoy' the 5km run! LoL


Huh! BTW who cares? if it is delicious, just eat it! heheeeee...I'm still learning [obviously on my own] and do you care to share this marvellous choc cake with super rich ganache topping recipe with me ? it's amazing and we are using a simple less effort wet/dry mix technique *[refer mentalnote]. Happy baking cik jah! :)

*Mentalnote: Making a cake usually require us to whisk the butter & sugar until pale, light & fluffy then add in the dry ingredients, but in this recipe, what you have to do is put all the wet ingredients in 1 bowl and the dry ingredients in another bowl. Then mix them together. Something new to try :) and I LOVE IT SO MUCH as there's no more spray of powder all over the place ;)

 The ingredients:



350g [2 1/3cup] self raising flour
90g [3/4cup] cocoa powder
1teaspoon bicarbonate soda
345g [1 1/5 cup] caster sugar
160g butter
2tablespoon vanilla extract
3 eggs, beaten

Methods:

1. Preheat oven 180C. Grease & line a 22cm round cake tin with baking paper.
2. Sift the flour, cocoa powder & bicarb. soda into a large bowl. Stir in the sugar until well combined

3. Combine the butter, vanilla & 250ml [1cup] water in a saucepan over medium heat.

Stir until the butter has melted

4. then add to the flour mixture & whisk until well combined.

    Add the eggs & whisk until blended.

5. Spoon the mixture into the cake tin & smooth the top. Bake for 45-60minutes or until a cake skewer   
     inserted & comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and leave in the tin for 5 minutes

 Here it comes the 'devil' part :)



Chocolate Ganache Icing

185ml whipping cream
200g dark chocolate, roughly chopped

To make the icing, heat the cream in a small saucepan over low heat. When bubbles are beginning to form around the edge of the saucepan, remove the pan from the heat & stir in the chocolate until melted & smooth. Add knob of butter to make it shining & glazy. Leave to stand at room temperature.

Optional: Slice the cake into 2 or 3 layer [I'm crazy of the calories...oppss! the choc!] and spread the choc ganache in between.

Tara!!! the cake is ready! yumm! yummm!!!

More and more choc ganache :D

Keep cut flowers fresh and longer

Owh!!! they are so lovely! I absolutely ♥ it and thank you very much! ~~♥♥~~

My favourite stargazer :)

I never hang & leave my fresh hand bouquet flowers dry on the wall :P It just doesn't make sense at all to leave the flower dry and dusty that you don't even remember about it [after you hang it...lol] The best is to put the fresh flowers in a vase of water. Let's share how to keep the cut flowers stay fresh and longer. Before adding the flowers into the vase add in 1tbsp apple cider vinegar + 1 tbsp sugar into the water. Please remember to change the water every few days [and add more vinegar + sugar of course].

And display as usual :)

Psttt!!! chek memang sukak bawa my fresh flowers to office and display on my own table. They are lovely!, supposed to be close to me all the time and make the ofice smells heavenly :)

Well, don't look at from the bad side, look at from the good one. I'm too efficient :) I've done all my office work for the day. No delay no KIV :) WeeEeeee~~~
Sebagai seorang pekerja berhemah & bermutu tinggi [aceh!] I will not stayback for nothing. It is such a way of wasting the office resources. Kenapa pulak? well.....sebab kalo stayback membazir karan, membazir ayaq dan tak kurang jugak membazir waktu sebab dok surf internet for nonsense things using office facilities. Danggg!!! o.O

.....and no gym workout today...woohoooooo!

Sejak musim hujan melanda sekitar lembah klang nie, my gardern society members sumernya happy jer! :)
Keadaan hujan agak lebat hampir setiap petang, kilat petir menjerit~jerit, diselang~selikan dengan angin yang agak kuat dan my astro signal pun hilang :P Sungguhpun demikian my plants sumer cool jer.
But, the club president laaaaagi cool sebab tak payah siram pokok! yaahoooo!!!

Dengan keadaan cuaca hujan yang mencurah hebat, banyak jugak kuntuman frangipani yang baru mekar dan masih gojes gugur dipukul angin walopun belum layu T_T
Kalo kat Bali, yang gugur tu chek kutip selit kat telinga pastu jalan~jalan sini sana. Tapi sebab kat Malaysia, khuatir plak depa kata chek nie ada yang tak kena. Ahaks!
Today, satu lagi dahan just starts blooming. Yeyy!! suker ;)

Tak sangka kan, rumah tecit cinonet pun tanam pokok nie. Ahaks! Selalunya rumah bungalow jer tanam spesis nie...heheeee.This is Calathea Lutea or Cigar Calathea. I believe the reason it is called cigar is because the bracts [so called flower holder] alike the cigar tapi tak der asap...lol Calathea lutea can grow to a height of 2.5m and produces small flowers along the bracts. Daun-nya bersize sangat besaq [paddle-shaped leaves] dan mempunyai debuan berwarna silver undersides.

Masa mula~mula tanam hari tu, tak sangka bleh jadi sangat besaq macam nie. Selalu tengok kat tepi-tepi jalan tu S or M size jer. Tapi the one at my home is nearly XL size! o.O Daun pun dah nak sama size dengan daun pisang.

Planted because its foliage and definitely will give an instant tropical looks and making the small garden look smaller...huhuuuu
sebab tu lar rumah bungalow jar tanam pokok besaq~besaq nie.

Yang nie chek tak tau nama apa. Kat rumah chek kat kampung tu banyak mak chek tanam. Sangat mudah ditanam dan dijaga. Tak payah cucuk~cucuk ke dalam tanam tanah, main letak~letak atas tanah pun ia boleh tumbuh o.O amazing! Pastu cepat membiak dan kalo digantung atau di tanam di tempat yang tinggi sket, nanti akan keluar sulur berjuntaian dan anak~anak benih akan keluar di hujung juntaian tu. Sexy! :)

Pokok nie pun ditanam sebab daunan hijau [foliage]. Memang tak der bunga. For record, most of my garden members yang berdaftar are green foliage. Important sebab I'm not a SAHD [Stay At Home Darling] heheee. With limited time available only on weekend, chek dah serik nak tanam season flowers yang ala~ala henglish tu. Too sensitive, short life span and sangat fragile ~.~
Tapi kalo pergi flower nursey, slalu tergoda dengan bright colourful seasonal flowers ~. x
Kalo pokok ala~ala tropika nie senang jaga. Cukup baja, nescaya tidak menghampakan, segar biji mata :)

Ini satu lagi. Asalnya pokok benih chek beli kat nursery. Alahai!!! masa beli tu tak rupa pokok pun. Macam nak mati pun ada, tapi chek beli bertujuan; nak jadikan pokok benih. Indon tu jual RM6. kedekut taik idung masin! mintak diskon pun tak bagi. Huh! pokok nak mati pun nak cekik darah ~.~

Yang tergantung indah nie bukan pokok asal. Yang ni pasu chek semai sendiri. Chek kerat mature stems dari pokok benih pastu pejam mata dan cucuk dalam pasu. Tara!! After 2 months inilah hasilnya. Hebatkan? cuma kena tunggu sket lagi baru bushy.



And this is spider lily. Banyak digunakan di dalam penanaman landskap di sekitar bangunan ataupun jalanraya. Chek tanam spider lily nie sebab satu jer; murah....heheeheeee

Selain murah, ia cepat bercambah & bushy. So, keep my garden work simple & easy :)

The flower has such a pleasant smell. Even in 5ft away you can smell the fragrance. Maybe because it is under Lily family like Stargazer....urmmmmm Stargazer is the Queen!

Well, itu jar lar kot. Garden tecit besaq bulu mata, mana bleh tanam banyak~banyak. Nanti posmen tak nampak nak antar surat :)

Wahh! my hydrangea dah berbunga! Yeyy! Tak sabar nak tunggu full bloom. Tak tahu lar kaler apa nie, Mengikut firasat maybe kaler light pink kot. Tapi kalo lama2 tengok mcm kaler violet pun ada ;) Entah. Sebab hydrangea nie memang amazing sket, sebab kaler bunganya boleh bertukar-tukar mengikut kandungan PH tanah. Sebab tu ada petua, kalo nak bagi bunga nie kaler purple, tanam paku besi dalam tanah/pasu. Ini adalah kerana besi dapat mempengaruhi kandungan PH/alkali tanah.

Tapi, chek tak kesah lar kaler apa tu, janji sihat, tak der penyakit dan hidup subur~segar :) Alhamdulillah.

Jeng! jengg! jenggg! Morning glory pun sedang kembang mekar. Checking back my garden story, morning glory ni chek 'adopt' kat tepi jalan masa pegi jogging :) Tapi sebelum nak cabut pokok tepi jalan tu, bagi salam, selawat lar dulu. Minta izin dari alam :)

Balik rumah cucuk jar kat tanah. Alhamdulillah, it grows well in my garden. Menjalar freely within the front garden.

Owhh! yess!!! my rose plant kembali berbunga :-O sungguh tak disangka. Gumbira hati tak terkira. Cuma on second bloom nie kecik sket saiz bunga. Mungkin agaknya kurang baja....hahaaa

Sorry lar, sejak dua menjak nie sibuk sket hingga tak sempat nak ber-garden. Petang~petang plak hujan lebat, kesudahannya merekot~rekott dalam rumah tengok tv :P Tapi sekurang~kurangnya chek tengok Agrotek...lol

Tara!!! teka siapa beliau? Bermisai, hitam meqelit, kecik potet dan sedikit nakal...huh! dan memakai vest putih di dada..... meoawww!!!

Actually, he's not my cat. My neighbour punya. Muda lagi. Baru 6 months age.Tapi beliau selalu jalan~jalan ke kawasan rumah chek. Lompat~lompat dalam garden chek. Chek tak kesah selagi beliau tak pupu atau pipi merata~rata tempat especially dalam garden chek [kalo beliau pupu/pipi, nanti chek rotan montot!] . Tapi, bila tengok beliau terlompat~lompat main dan kadang~kadang tomei plak sebab selalu accompany chek gardening, kesian plak kat my adorable cik misai yang cute tu....merenung tajam dari dalam cage...huhuuuuu

Tapi, apakan daya, nak santek macam rozita che wan & keazaman luar biasa untuk melawan proses penuaan punya pasal, pejam mata lorrrr O.O hahaahaaaa :D

Teruja bila melihat cover buku Tun M nie. Manja-manja jer posing :) Rasa macam nak feluk~feluk jar..awww! [teringat kat arwah ayah T_T, sebab they have a minor resemblance especially on the nose :) sama-sama orang Aloq Setaq plak tu. Kampung pun dekat-dekat].


After a day being launched, I bought a copy at Borders for RM100. Available at the most bookstores and as well as at major hypermarkets like Carrefour, Tesco etc. Pstttt! kalo beli kat Tesco buleh collect point kan? lol



First skali soalan cikjah nak tanya, mesti buku ni dalam Bahasa Malaysia ker English kan?
It was written in English. Tebai ala~ala kamus Al-Marbawi; 809 pages, 62 chapters. Penuh dengan words depan belakang o.O A few pages with photos available in the middle spread.
Yer lar, what do u expect from a biography writing? kisah seorang lagenda TERhebat negara plak tu. Bukan calang~calang individu. Lain lar kalo baca biography kris dayanti...heheeee




To date I've read 9 chapters [long way to go and excited about it], and I love chapter 2: Family Values very much! kerana I strongly believe that cara dan bagaimana seseorang itu dibesarkan akan mencorak siapa mereka dewasa nanti. Sungguhpun seseorang itu akan melalui pelbagai fasa dan nilai sosial ketika membesar like go to school, belajar dan di ajar oleh guru-guru, bergaul dengan kawan-kawan, namun itu semua hanyalah sebagai perencah untuk memperkasakan jati diri seseorang individu. Jika asasnya di rumah itu kukuh, maka tiada apa yang dapat mempengaruhi jati diri kita :)

Tambahan pula itulah indahnya adat, sopan santun budaya masyarakat melayu. Sedang chek mengomel panjang pasal family values nie terkenang pulak of my own upbringging. Banyak juga peraturannya; tak buleh cakap bila makanan penuh dalam mulut, tak buleh cakap guna perkataaan 'aku', 'hang' [sungguhpun ia melambangkan keakraban & kemesraan di kalangan masyarakat utara] nanti kena luku kepala x__x , tak buleh tunjuk benda/orang etc dengan kaki, ken atunjuk guna ibu jari [surprisingly masih ada manusia jahil yg point object using foot. Idiot!], duduk selunjur pun tak buleh kecuali sedang bersenang2 seorang diri dalam bilik, kalo sedara datang sumer adik beradik kena pakat keluar salam dan beramah mesra [budak2 skrg kalo sedara datang, terus berkurung dlm bilik] yada...yada...yada....

Sun, Sea & Sand Escape Part 2

Well, as I mentioned earlier, in this post I'm sharing with you all about the resort, the beautiful beaches and fun activities offered by the resort and maybe a liltle about the 'sweet' beach girl :)

Arrived at the jetty exactly at 10.30am. Stepping out from the boat, myself & all the passengers of the boat dengan wajah terpukau, blurred & giles gedix nak mandi laut make our way lenggang~lenggok straight towards to the reception which is located in the main building. My luggage yg berketul~ketul penuh dengan 4 days "runway show outfits" itu were taken care and sent straight to my suite room.

Wow! such a spacious resort. Been greeted with a welcome drink [bukan air sirap okay, tapi apple juice] and a Piliphino trio group welcomed us with a live performance singing a song ♫♫selamat datang ke sibu island resort ♫♫♫.
Wahh!!! it was head over heels already ;))




This resort was opened sometimes in year 2000. The resort was closed for a massive refurbishment work & facelift makeover nearly a year and re-opened recently in year 2009. So, what else to expect rather than a brand new and clean accomodation on one-island resort with an international four-star rating.

Allright, pick your direction. Which way to go.......

First and foremost, let me take you to my special request suite room with ocean view.

During the reservation, I specifically requested the best room in the resort and the staff recommended me a Serindit Suite 1103.
Generally, they are 121 chalets of superior, deluxe and three types of suites – Serindit [great for single/twin sharing] , Layang Layang [great for triple sharing] and Honeymoon [of course for honeymooners with private beach] – set amidst lush vegetation and well-landscaped gardens. Each chalet is tastefully refurbished for a warm homely feeling and is equipped with standard facilities within the 'kampung' ambiance.

Walk with me guys, I'm taking you to my suite room....jeng! jeng! jeng! Seriously, after checked-in I was kind of lost in locating my room because it's located at the end of the island facing the beautiful Beach 2. It was like walking from north to south :P I was kind of heebie ~ jeebies already.......

Wonder of how my room looks like as it does matters to me for the next 4 days :)

Single suite chalet with ocean view. However, there is another suite in front of my suite; Serindit 1102 which is exactly by the beach but it has some defect on the aircond & heater. So, Serindit 1103 is the best though! :)

with tv [happy to saw tv as I'm a HBO sunday movie fan].

and bedroom hall with twin sharing bed. Surprisingly, the housekeeping keep my suite room clean every single day and change the towels daily :)

I've told you, it's gonna be a white beach holiday!

What a surprised when I opened my wooden window, the friendly deer was eating grasses & forest leaves behind my suite. They eat just any type of vegetation or mast they can find on the ground. oWh! sooooooo cute!

8-10 meters on foot from my suite to the beach [chek agak2 lar, tapi kalo bersin tu terkejut lar ikan di laut...heheeee]

With four beaches, each with its own unique character and a well-equipped sports centre, the resort has enough to keep holiday-makers happy on the island.

Other Deluxe and superior rooms with forest or garden view.

The muted earthy tones kampung style chalets built in the heart of the island jungle.

During my check in, only 12-15paxs of us on the island plus 80 over pax of staff that belongs to the resort. Wow! That is definitely a big number of resort staff :D

This resort is more popular among the Singaporean maybe because of the location and easy access to them. During my stay, there was a group of 15paxs Singaporean who checked in just for 1 nite....errrkkkk??? cukupkah? lol

The resort has 4 beaches. What's an island getaway without sandy beaches or the sea?

Yeeaahhhh~~~ here it comes the tan part T__T

The white angels was slowly turns to shimmering black swan...huhuuuu

My personal opinion, this resort is nearly alike the luxury Pangkor Laut Resort [PLR] which represent one island one resort but of course the PLR carries the 5 stars rating with multiple international award winning resort & spa titles. Anyway, Sibu Island Resort needs to work a liltle harder towards the equivalent standard and maybe it needs more promotion so that it is commonly known among Malaysian :)

For record to those who wanted to know the comparison, Perhentian beach is still the best. Comparing Perhentian and Redang, still Perhentian is the best [my sincere personal opinion]

Looking at this beach soccer field reminds me to the tv programme 'Bridget most sexiest beach' awwww!!! the gedix Bridget :P

Since the resort only occupies one-third of the 65-hectare island, a large part of the island, especially the coastal forest, is still untouched. A really interesting excursion is along the island’s back-bone.

This is the jungle trekking trail. I was dying to go for this adventure hike....unfortunately, I was advised to wear a proper sport attire and sport shoes is a must for safety reason.... T__T

The choice of trails is exciting – an hour-long one-km Rainbow Trail, a 90-minute 1.5km sea-shore Horizon Trail and the arduous 3km Island Expedition.

I had the spa on the last day. The service? urmmm...it just okay and average. As a spa-goers, I believe the masseuses [massagers] could imporove more on their customer service and courtesy. However, the massage techniques was excellent and the treatment rooms was nicely decorated. I had 1 hour traditional massage at RM162 at 10pm. It was a feeling of easiness in my whole body & bringing me a great comforts of having my body massaged at night just before bedtime. Hardly walked back to my suite and ZzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzzz like a dead cat :))))

The resort offers a lots of activities. Closed your eyes and point your finger to any of them :)

and my favourite was island hopping.YeyyYYy! It cost me RM50/person for 2hrs boat trip to Pulau Sibu Tengah; the only island with settlement of 200 villagers.

We stopped at one of the many 'kelong' located in the middle of the sea.

Some of the 'addicted' kaki pancing overnight here. This kelong has a restaurant inside. This look scary to me as it using only wooden beams as the structure.

The jetty provided by state goverment at Pulau Sibu Tengah. I like it very much. Beautiful! ;) Unfortunately, when I reached this island, my camera battery nearly dead.......huaarrrghhhhh

We [me and other island hopping travellers] were given 30 minutes to mingle around the island. I wished I can rent a bycycle to explore the 'kampung'. It was the best, cheap and fastest way to explore a new place [errkkk...I don't know how to ride a two-wheelers engine okay]. But there was no such bycycle rental service though. I didn't walk further into the village as it started to rain and stop, and rain again and stop again...... :(

I was amazed by the stunning view of these pink flowers. They are so georgeous!...and everywhere in the village. According to one of the villager that I met, she said this trees lasting because no cows or goats bother to eat them..lol

Closer look

I had delicious ice kacang at the local restaurant. Terpaku kakak kedai tu sbb suddenly all of us [including the boat crews, F&B manager, recreation manager & a few resort staff who joint my island hopping trip] swarmed into her shop and everyone was asking for ice kacang lol.....

30 minutes over. Tett!!! because I was the last one who placed the order, I had to pack my ice kacang and sruttt! sruttt!! menikmatinya on the boat sambil ditiup angin laut :)
...dan huhuuuuu! due to cloudy weather and heavy rain on the mainland, I was unable to catch the sunset :(

Okay...sambung sket lagi. On the 2nd day on the island, then suddenly I realized 'huh!! how am I going to the Senai airport from Tg Leman Jetty to catch my flight back home?" OMG! I didn't even think about it...hahahaaa...silly me ~.~ too excited thinking of going and never thought about coming back home :P

FYI, there is no taxi counter or public transport available at Tg Leman jetty.

After 13seconds panic attack o.O, I called the reception and they were more than happy to assist me. Half an hour later, I was told that everythings has been arranged. A taxi [arranged for downtown, JB] will pick me from the jetty to the airport. Huh! and the fun continued~~~ yeyyyy! :)

Hurmmmm.....anything else you wanted to know cik jah? aceh!

urmmm.....owh! yeaa...One last thing; I keep telling myself that kalolah I was left stranded on the island for 2weeks continously or maybe 3 weeks, I will definitely survive! only thing I need is lots and lots of Lancome :))
